Introduction

Ecological Economy is a transdisciplinary, peer-reviewed journal that explores the relationships between ecosystems and economic systems.
It aims to extend and integrate the understanding of the interfaces and interplay between “nature’s household” (ecosystems) and
“humanity’s household” (the economy). The journal emphasizes work that draws on and integrates insights from natural sciences, social sciences,
and the humanities. It covers a broad range of topics, including the valuation of natural resources, sustainable development, ecological modeling,
and the implications of thermodynamics for economics and ecology. The journal is published monthly by Elsevier on behalf of the International Society for Ecological Economics.
