Introduction

Ecological Economics is a transdisciplinary, peer-reviewed journal that explores the complex relationships between ecological and economic systems. Established in 1989 and published by Elsevier on behalf of the International Society for Ecological Economics, the journal emphasizes the integration of ecological science, economics, and various social sciences and humanities. It seeks to address challenges related to human well-being, sustainability, and justice by promoting research that bridges the gap between nature’s household (ecosystems) and humanity’s household (the economy). The journal welcomes contributions that are methodologically diverse and appeal to a broad readership interested in the interplay between ecological and economic systems.
