Introduction

Architectural Intelligence is a peer‑reviewed, open‑access international journal launched in May 2022 by Springer under the auspices of Tongji University and DigitalFUTURES. Guided by design‑science thinking, it explores the role of artificial intelligence and emerging digital technologies across the entire architectural life cycle—encompassing design, simulation, optimization, construction, operation, and inhabitation—against the backdrop of three futuristic habitats: smart, virtual, and extraterrestrial . The journal promotes interdisciplinary dialogue across architecture, engineering, computer science, environmental science, and social science, aiming to reshape architectural knowledge and materialize a sustainable paradigm for intelligent built environments
